Another Trophy for North Arm Shooter

Colin, a member of North Arm Rifle Club at Yandina, won the annual Ipswich Prize Meeting which attracted a big field of 97 shooters to the range at Ripley.

Four shooters dropped only one shot over three ranges at 600, 600 and 800 metres in good field conditions.

Gold Coast Rifle Club member Danny O’Mera equaled the best score for the day, 147 with 17 centre bulls, but had to settle for second place. Mirko Teglasi from Brisbane was a close third with 15 centres and Gordon Duncan from Central continued his recent good form with 13 centres.

Another group of four shooters who dropped two shots for the day included the best performed Ipswich member Rob Rush.

Mariners Rifle Club member Geoff Grant won B grade with a score of 147.13 which placed him in the top 10 for the competition.

Grafton visitor Peter Drew was a stand-out winner of the strong F Standard scope class event while Cameron McEwan and his wife Julie from Dalby-Tara finished first and second in F Open.

Alan Cronk from Murwillumbah was the top veteran and Brisbane Mariners shooter Cathy Smith won the women’s trophy.
