CROWS NEST GOOMBUNGEE

CROWS NEST TURNS ON SOME DIFFICULT CONDITIONS

DAY 1

Day 1 at Crows Nest Goombungee has seen some of the best on range! Some have walked away from the sweepstake with a grin as wide as the great outdoors while others have walked away with the dreaded “What happened” at Crows Nest!

Two 15 shot matches at 500 yards saw good conditions, bad conditions, extremely changeable conditions… to which the locals replied, “Welcome to Crows Nest”! Scores for the day are in the photos.

SWEEPSTAKE WINNERS

  • TRA – Ash Bidgood 148.15
  • TRB – Dom Whalan 145.11
  • TRC – Rob Fry 142.7
  • FSA – Hamish O’Donnell 176.12
  • FSB – Peter Ellis 168.10
  • FO – Peter Broom 179.11
  • FTR – Craig Clark 165.6

Some great shooting in the first stage John Gilliland shoot a 74.10 in TRA with Peter Camm a 72.6 in TRB and Rob Fry a 71.3 in TRC! Jenni Hausler and Lachlan McGovern only dropped a point in FO with both on 89.5! FSA saw Brad Norton get on the only possible of the morning with a 90.6! Peter Broom took to the second 500y in FO to score the only other possible of the day with a 90.7!

Tomorrow sees the CNG Prize Meet – the temperatures are expected to be higher – and let’s guess that the shooting will be equally as hot!

DAY 2

Day 2 brought hot temps, difficult wind conditions and hot scores! More shooters joined the competition with Ash Bidgood being the only winner from day 1 to win on day 2!

Conditions on day 2 were totally different with big wind and big drop-offs! It took patience to take the win. Some awesome shooting by our winners with not just high scores but high centre counts!
