Matt takes Natives title

Matt PozzebonMatt PozzebonMatt Pozzebon has come back to Queensland in fine form, snaring the Natives Prize Meeting Les Perrin Grand Aggregate.

He dropped just one shot to post a winning score of 299 with 41 centres across six ranges on June 18 and 19.

Matt, who is the current US Open champion, had been working in the Hunter Valley in NSW but has returned to studies at the University of Queensland, re-joining the Uni Club.

The Natives event attracted a strong field including a contingent of New Zealand shooters in Brisbane for a two day F Class teams match against Australia ahead of the National Queens.


Conditions on the opening day were ideal with five shooters scoring possible 200s across the four ranges.

Natives member Kim O’Loghlen placed second in the grand aggregate with 296.31 from Ashley Bidgood, Crows Nest, on 295.41.

Des Voght from North Arm won the B Grade aggregate and D Sharp from Mariners the C Grade.

Another Natives shooter Brian Pickles won the F Standard competition while Jason Mayers from Brisbane beat a strong F Target Rifle field.

Ipswich shooter Josh Reid won the F Open.
