The following is an update from the Board following recent meetings and sessions held reviewing the Strategic Plan for the application of priorities in the coming 12 months.

Strategic Plan

A number of Board sessions have been held recently to review and consolidate the Strategic Plan while identifying a number of priorities for the coming 12 months. These priorities will form the basis of the operational management plan for the Executive and staff along with providing direction for our Sub Committees. Once finalised a summary of the updates will be published and sent to members.

Communication Plan

As outlined at the AGM the Communications Plan will form a major piece of activity in the coming period. The implementation of a Communication Working Group has commenced with the first item the development of a communication rhythm that will allow content to be created/developed in advance of release from various sources. These sources could include members, Sub Committees or external persons.

Board Member Presence

One of the items identified on the Communications Plan was to have Board Members or Executive present at as many of our OPM’s or events within the QRA community as possible. To date we have had Board Members attend a number of OPM’s such as Darling Downs, Bundaberg, Beaudesert and UQRC. In some cases, there may be an absence due to unavailability of Board Members or Executive. However, it is a focal point for all Board Members to ensure a greater access to discussion and feedback directly to the Board.

Board Charter

A final review is being conducted of a Board Charter. Once the final draft has been approved it will be circulated to Sub Committees for review and comment.

State Championships 

Most members would have recently seen that the program for the State Championships – Kings Prize – has been released. The program will follow similar lines to previous events. Some recent communications has highlighted that the QRA is not running a Sporter Class at this event. At this point in time the QRA is not considering adding Sporter Class to the State Championship program. While not included in the program, efforts are currently underway to look at a championship series to be held throughout the year across multiple locations. More information will be released when available.
