AGM – Members Forum – Communications Plan

Following the 2023 AGM the Board held a Members Forum where among other things a Communications Plan was presented to the members present. The Plan will be published and sent to members in the very near future. In essence, the Plan shows what to expect from the Association in terms of communications and when. The basis for this was derived from club surveys and personal interviews with members.

As part of the moving the Plan forward a sub working group will be established to execute the various parts identified. We look forward to putting this in motion and gaining feedback from members.

Plant and Machinery

The QRA has owned a bulldozer for a number of years, it was required when the soil earthworks was allowed on the site. Given the cessation, for the near and medium future of this program it has been deemed an asset that is no longer needed by the Association and has been sold. Funds from the sale of the bulldozer will be used to purchase a more suitable machine for the continued site operations in the form of an excavator. It is expected such a machine will also be used in dry hiring out to other site users.

Belmont Front Entrance

There are some works that have been approved for the upgrade of the front entrance to the Belmont Shooting Complex. This includes upgrade to the front fence and some electrical work to light up the entrance. This work will be conducted over the next 12 months as approvals and funding is available. These upgrades are part of the continued work of the Commemorations Committee.

Board Strategic Plan

As part of a continual review process the Board will be meeting shortly to review the Strategic Plan for the Association. The review will assess any changes to our operating environment and whether any new opportunities exist for the Association. Outcomes from the review will be used to develop the 12 month operational workplan. The Board will update members of any changes to the Strategic Plan in due course.

The Competition Committee is currently finalising the program for the State Championships in August. Once finalised the program will be sent out to the members. Given the change in our head of state the QRA Kings will deliver on our very successful events held in the past.
