WORLD SILVER MEDALISTS

Australian F/TR shooters

QRA members comprised half the 8-shooters in the Australian team which won a silver medal at the World F Class championships in Canada.

The F Target Rifle team was narrowly beaten by the United States which won by six points 3400 to 3394.

The world titles which have just wrapped up at the Connaught Range in Ottawa attracted more than 600 competitors.

 

Cessnock shooter Rod Davies won the F Open world individual title and the F Open team captained by Brisbane’s Craig McGowan successfully defended the world title won in 2013.

Mark Fairbairn from Cannon Hill shot the top individual score in the Australian F TR team event — 430.32 from a possible 450.

Mike Samuels from Beaudesert was in second with 429.23 and Nikki Slee from Ipswich was third, contributing a 428.35 to the team aggregate.

Jason Mayers from Brisbane shot 423.28. Other members of the team included Josh Reid from Ipswich and Lowell Tillack from Goondiwindi.

Mark Fairbairn top scored in the world silver medal-winning F TR team.
