It has been a little while since we have sent out a Board update, however, critical items have been well covered through member updates. The first half of the year has been quite busy from a number of perspectives. Shooting activity in the QRA have been continually disrupted due to inclement weather or threats of such weather. When possible we have seen State Teams trials, State Team Championships and a few OPM’s around the Association.
The following is an update from the Board following recent meetings and sessions held reviewing the Strategic Plan for the application of priorities in the coming 12 months.
The board held its first meeting with our new Independent Board member Ryan Shaw and QRA member Board member, Leon Lindley on Saturday 6 May.
Board Performance Review – Errington Report – This report is on the performance of the QRA Board and how it is meeting its strategic, operational, and fiduciary responsibility to the Association. It is focused on strengthening governance and compliance, particularly in relation to policies, procedures and the culture of the board.
Queensland Rifle Association – This is the Proposed Organisational Structure – (QRA Board preferred)
Belmont Shooting Complex
The Queensland Rifle Association fosters target rifle shooting and firearms training through our clubs. Different classes of rifle shooting are conducted by our Clubs under the Standard Shooting Rules (SSRs) of the National Rifle Association of Australia (NRAA).
