ARE YOU READY FOR A WEEK OF GREAT SHOOTING? The countdown has certainly begun for the 2022 QRA State Championships (10-14 August 2022) and the Pacific RC OPM (6-7 August)!

The Duncan Range saw the elite of the sport vying for a place on the Australian Palma Rifle Team. Shooters from across the country took to the 1000 yard mound, not once, but 5 times! Securing a place is not an easy job at this level. Across the mound were World Championship gold medalists, some are seasoned veterans who’ve done it all before: a few aren’t 25 yet!

Did you realise you can enjoy private events with the Queensland Rifle Association? We offer a Shoot4Fun and LongShot events which you can book privately! Yes, that’s right, you get to enjoy the experience with your friends or co-workers.

M.D.R.A. clubs came together for their fixtures – coached team events. It seems there were some interesting conditions at times as a few wind coaches shook their head in disbelief.

A great weekend of shooting across the various QRA affiliated clubs: from full-bore to sporter/hunter our shooters were showing their skills!

Natives Club member, Kristine Crawford, has stormed home with a 3rd Stage win to take out the NQRA F-Class Standard Queens! Kristine’s daughter, Jessica, and husband, Bob, have finished 4th and 5th respectively in TR A-Grade after some excellent shooting throughout the Championships. Wonderful shooting against tough competition!

To state the obvious we have had significant rainfall which has adversely impacted the range and surrounds. The sealed roads are generally in reasonable condition with potholes being repaired as required. The unsealed roads (tracks) have sustained damage which may make them unsuitable for some cars. Please exercise care and car pool when possible to minimise traffic.

QRA clubs enjoyed a massive weekend of shooting from the Duncan Range and International Ranges in Brisbane to its regional centres.

John Killian passed away at 0942hrs on the 16th January 2022 in hospital in the England after a short illness. John was well known to many international shooters who visited Bisley and meeting him on his many tours with British teams around the world.
